Introduzione

If the touch pad becomes damaged it will need to be replaced in order for it to properly work. There are a good amount of steps in this process but, it is not too difficult.

  3. Flip laptop over and open it.

  6. Carefully (holding both sides of the keyboard), push up and lift slightly. Keyboard is still connected via a ribbon cable.

    • Move the keyboard slightly to the left to have access to the keyboard ribbon cable.

  7. Use the black spudger to lift the black latch holding the keyboard ribbon cable.

  8. Unscrew the three (2.5 mm Phillips) screws holding the bottom touchpad panel.
    • Unscrew the three (2.5 mm Phillips) screws holding the bottom touchpad panel.

  9. Carefully slide the bottom panel to the right.

    • Keyboard is connected via a wire to the back of the panel.

  10. Flip the bottom touchpad panel directly towards the screen, being sure to not lift it too high.

    • Keep an eye on the ZIF connector underneath, make sure it is not pulled accidentally.

  11. Using the black spudger, slightly pry up on the ZIF connector and lift out the wire carefully.

  12. Unscrew the two (2.5 mm Phillips) screws on the touch pad retention panel (Use Phillips #0 screw driver).

  13. Slightly push the touch pad retention panel forward to remove from clasp and lift up.

  14. Unscrew the following two (2.0 mm Phillips) screws attached to the touchpad (Use Phillips #0 screw driver).
    • Unscrew the following two (2.0 mm Phillips) screws attached to the touchpad (Use Phillips #0 screw driver).

  15. Slightly lift up the bottom of the touchpad and pull towards you to free the touchpad from the casing
