Background Information
Yggdrasil Linux (Also abbreviated as LGX) was an early live Linux distribution created by Yggdrasil Computing Inc. and was one of the first Linux Distributions to be offered as a live CD distribution. The Distribution was introduced on December 8, 1992, and aimed to provide a plug-and-play Linux experience, that could be used without any additional configuration for the hardware it was running on. The Yggdrasil beta was released on February 18, 1993, for $60 ($130.60 adjusted for inflation in 2024), and later the full version was released on August 22, 1993, for $99 ($215.50 adjusted for inflation in 2024).
Yggdrasil Linux's name comes from Norse mythology and was chosen for the distribution as Yggdrasil took separate pieces of software and assembled them into one complete product.
