Logitech G9/G9x

The Logitech G9 and G9X are USB-wired laser gaming mice. The G9 was released in 2007, with the G9X following as an updated version in 2009.

While both models share many features, the G9X introduced several key improvements. The most notable upgrade is the DPI range: the G9 supports 200–3200 DPI across five settings, while the G9X extends that range to 200–5700 DPI with the same number of settings. The G9X also supports Windows 7, in addition to Windows XP and Vista, which are compatible with the original G9.

Performance enhancements include an image processing rate of 12 megapixels per second on the G9X, compared to 6.4 megapixels per second on the G9. The G9 has a maximum acceleration of 20 G and a top speed of 45–60 inches per second, whereas the G9X increases acceleration to 30 G and supports speeds up to 165 inches (4.19 meters) per second.

Both mice offer adjustable weights (up to 28 grams), customizable LED lighting, and quick and intuitive DPI switching. They are programmable and can store up to five user profiles. Each also features a dual-mode scroll wheel for frictionless or ratcheted scrolling, and durable Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) feet for smooth gliding across most surfaces.

This mouse can be identified by the matte black color, black and white scroll wheel, and Logitech name and logo on the front of the mouse printed in red or white depending on the chosen grip. The wide grip has a satin finish and the precision grip is more compact and uses a DryGrip technology for easier control. The model number (G9 or G9X) is printed towards the bottom of the front case beneath the Logitech logo. The model number is black against a white background. This mouse type has a flatter profile than the typical mouse shape.
