Background
The Kyocera Dura XV Plus is a Verizon exclusive flip phone, made by the Kyocera Corporation, which was founded in 1959. The phone was released to the public on April 6th, 2023, and is meant for use in manual labor or medical jobs. It has front-facing speakers, a simple design that is made to have a low cost of repair, and a very durable, but easy to clean exterior. The Dura XV Plus has an IP68 dust and waterproof protection. The phone has precise location tracking, even when offline, for easy recovery if lost. While the phone is still being produced, it is not really being made for consumer use anymore, as Kyocera has made the switch to focusing more on use for corporations. The Kyocera Dura XV plus has an MSRP of $250 and is only sold by Verizon. The thing to look out for with this device is that customers have complained about the battery. The battery has been known to bloat and has a chance to explode. The successor to the Kyocera Dura XV Plus is the Kyocera DuraXA Equip (E4831), which came out between 2023 and 2024. The Kyocera DuraXV Extreme (E4810) is the direct predecessor to the Kyocera DuraXV Extreme Plus.
Identification
The phone is identified by the Verizon name at the top of the display when closed, and by Kyocera below the display in the front middle of the phone. The model number is E4811, which can be found by removing the back of the phone; to do this, turn the tab with a coin or a flat-head screwdriver until the back clicks, then insert a screwdriver into the tab at the bottom of the phone to lift it off.
