Background
The Helmer DT1 Version B thermometer measures the temperature inside the QuickThaw® Plasma Thawing System's chamber with a probe and electric sensor. Helmer Scientific is a medical manufacturer which offers doctors, scientists, and professionals with equipment for protecting public health. The thermometer allows the individual to accurately assess the temperature within the thawing system to successfully thaw and preserve delicate plasma.
Plasma thawing is used before a transfusion and limits damage to the plasma due to the controlled environment. When thawing, temperature regulation is vital to prevent damage to the plasma being thawed. The thermometer accurately displays the temperature on the front of the device. When the tips of the probes are inserted correctly, the temperature gauge will increase in increments of 0.1 °C and may take up to 15 seconds for the screen and thermometer to initialize.
The official Helmer DT1 Version B Thermometer operation manual latest update was November 25th, 2019. Information regarding maintenance and upkeep should be referred to based on this updated manual.
Identification
The thermometer can be distinguished by its shape, size, and color. It has a light blue rectangular housing and a solar-powered temperature gauge which displays the temperature reading on the display screen on the front.
This thermometer is not any household thermometer. The long stainless steel probe stems out from the bottom of the rectangular housing where the user must immerse the probe into the QuickThaw® Plasma Thawing System's chamber.
