Does your Shark Navigator Lift-Away Pro no longer stand up on its own? Shark Navigator Lift-Away Pro vacuums are susceptible to a range of problems that could cause the floor roller to stop standing up on its own. Check the following possible causes to identify and solve the problem.

Spring Has Fallen Off

If your vacuum does not stand on its own and you have no control over the direction you are vacuuming, a spring inside of the vacuum may have come undone. You will need to take all of the screws out of the bottom of the vacuum as if you are replacing the vacuum’s belt. Inside, there is a spring that is supposed to go next to one of the vacuum’s wheels. If the spring has come off, put it back on, and reassemble your vacuum. Then, see if it will stand up on its own.

Broken Latch

If the vacuum does not stand on its own, the vacuum’s latch may be broken. Call customer service to inquire about latch replacement options. When you buy the vacuum you have a 5-year warranty, so broken pieces are easily replaceable. You can purchase replacement parts either on Amazon.com or on Shark’s website.

My shark lift away works good but everytime I try to use the wand it falls over hard and has put several marks on my hard wood floor. Very frustrating trying to hold ot from falling over when the wand in use.

Mine does the same thing, since I found your comment. I get so tired of it that I absolutely am beginning to hate the thing! I’m following in case somebody has an option other than holding the canister the whole time you use it!!

Ours too, the marks it has made on walls and skirts is horrendous.

Yes!!! It gets my heels every time! I try to stand on one foot and hold the vacuum with my other foot. Ugh!!!!! I’m getting rid of it.
