Laptop is Overheating
The heat from the laptop has increased a great amount.
The vents under the laptop are clogged
Remove the dust and lint from the vents underneath the laptop. This debris prevents the fan from functioning properly, thus causing the laptop to overheat.
The laptop is stored in a space that is too hot for the device
Place the laptop in a cooler room to aid in lowering its temperature.
The laptop does not have sufficient space for ventilation
If the laptop does not have enough space for airing out the device, it can easily overheat. For good ventilation, place the laptop on a level surface and upright.
The Laptop is Running Slow
Starting up the laptop, moving files around, and beginning programs takes more time than it should.
Windows 10 is disorganizing information and causing a slow hard drive
A slow hard drive can be caused by Windows 10 disorganizing information. Windows has a built-in tool titled Disk Defragmenter that can fix this issue. To use this tool, click on the Windows button on your desktop and search “Defragment and Optimize Drives”. Start the operation by clicking on the result.
The Laptop Screen is Black
The screen is black even though you can hear the laptop working.
The display connection is faulty
Press the keys “Windows key + Ctrl + Shift + B” simultaneously and release. This may revive the display connection and restore screen imaging.
Additional hardware is preventing the screen from displaying
Hardware components such as cables, mice, or keyboards that are decaying can stop the screen from functioning properly. Perform a hard reset on the laptop by following these steps:
- Turn the laptop off and unplug the charger cable, any wired or wireless hardware components.

- Let everything rest for 30 seconds, then hold the power button for 60 seconds.
- Put the battery back in the laptop and connect the power cord. Confirm it is turning on properly with a working display.
Windows Keeps Shutting Down

Third-party interferences that shut down Windows
Sometimes third-party software can lead to shutting down Windows.
- Uninstall any third-party software, anything that’s been installed from the internet or something installed not by Windows, Microsoft, or Lenovo
- Running programs should be closed because they can interfere with the restart process. If the programs will not close, go to the task manager and force close them from there
- Update your computer, Go to “Start” and search for “check for updates”, click on the result.

- Search “Fix problems with your Computer”
- Now click on the search result
- If the fix has been found by Windows then click on “Apply fix” when prompted.
- Allow the “fix” to be applied
- Also, you may need to restart your computer for the changes to get into effect. It can also be done by pressing the power button and turning it off and on.
Slow Boot-Time
Starting up the laptop and login time takes longer than normal.
Solutions for speeding up boot time
- Clean out the dust by taking off the back cover and cleaning the space.
- Check memory usage/freeing up disk space by checking how much space is used up on your computer, and deleting unnecessary items.
- Disable unnecessary startup by going into settings and disabling any startups you do not use.
- Check for viruses by accessing security in settings.
- Check for updates in general settings to make sure your laptop is up to date.
