This may be too late to help but I promise it is perfectly true. I had the same problem with mine after a few years of trouble free use. After reading the comments here I decided to investigate or throw it away and get a replacement. Being a little mechanical I decided that nothing would be lost by trying to determine the fault. The very small screws in the case proved very hard to remove and as so very often happens there is always ONE! after numerous attempts I resorted to taps with a small hammer on the top of the small screwdriver to try and create a little more groove and get the screw to move. After starting to get a little aggressive and still no movement I decided to give up as I reasoned HAMMERING WOULD NOT SOLVE ANYTHING OR WOUD IT ? So in a last despairing gesture I switched back on and LOW & BEHOLD the camera now works fine again !! Can’t guarantee this method but I promise it worked for me and scored Brownee points from my wife who bought it me as a birthday present

I have a FinePix S2950. I get a “Card Not Initialized” error. I’ve tried all the things in the user manual…I tried to reformat the memory card…which used to work fine; I cleaned the contacts, I used an air duster to blow out the internal camera contacts; I bought a new memory card..it always gives me the same response…Card Not Initialized. I tried the memory card in a different camera and it works fine. Help!
