I had no display, and did the various tests PRAM, power supply etc to restore it before attempting the logic board fix .
I did buy the logic board repair service offered on Ebay MACBOOK PRO A1260 820-2249-A LOGIC BOARD MOTHERBOARD REPAIR SERVICE **NEW GPU** #111134189710, and sent it off with hope that I will succeed.Did anybody else thres these guys?

OK, the board returned, sporting the new chipset, I reinstalled it, and voila, she booted right up. I am typing on the unit right now....Cheers, and thanks for the cool guide.
