PS4 started to turn on and quickly turn off. Wasn't bad at first. I would unplug the cord, wait 30 seconds and try again and that usually worked. Then it started to get worse by doing the same thing for 2-4 days,. I knew it was the PSU by reading some forums and it would of cost me twice as much to send it in as to get it repaired.
Easy repair, but need special bits to get the panel off and the PSU out.
The left side of the PSU is harder to get out, but just lift the right side till the left gets lose a little

The power supply unit failed. Would not turn on.
Quick and simple. Maybe 2 mins to swap out power supply.
No, just dont rush through it. I lost a screw by accident. All in all very easy repair.
Price to get the part and do it yourself was 1/2 the price versus sending in to the company without warranty.
With the online walk through for ifixit to repair the console gave enough information to help with the repair.

I have a 1st gen PS4, which was plagued with power supply issues. It would keep turning off at random times for no reason. This would be followed by having to re-analyze and restore the system software just in time for the power to kick off again. Because my PS4 was out of warranty, Sony would not help unless I paid $150 up-front for analysis (Poor support for a well-known issue, if you ask me). I looked on-line and found numerous sellers of the replacement power supply, but IFIXIT had the best reputation, and even had step-by-step instructions of the replacement. Bonus: Even though I did not personally need them, they had links directly to purchase of the tools required.
Quick, Easy, Painless. PS4 works like a champ now. It took about 20 minutes total, and 1/2 of that was finding the right torx bit.
Make sure to verify you have the "security" torx drivers, otherwise it will be more difficult.

Playstation wouldn't turn on after hitting the power button. It would beep once and then the blue light would go out.
Repair was easy with the instructions from www.ifixit.com
Follow the instructions and you cant go wrong!
My PS4 kept turning off in the middle of playing game and i did not want to send it to Sony for service.
The repair was super simple. Following Ifixit's guide i was able to get the system back up and running in 10 minutes.
Because the screws are really small, make sure to keep them all together.
Power supply failure. A capacitor was actually blown in the original psu.
Very easy. Knowing all the basics and how all the components function is a definite plus, but truly not necessary for this task. It's all separate units, about the same as replacing, say, a spark plug on your car or truck. Just remove the faulty part, replace with the new unit, plug, and play.
Be sure to line those pins up on the psu during installation and the top mounted power bridge pins. Other than that, it's an easy task.

A fonte do PS4 queimou apesar de estar conectada a um estabilizador. Acreditava ser uma atualização da Sony porém com uma chave p/ teste de corrente elétrica constatei que a energia não estava chegando aos conectores.
Pelo vídeo do IFIX disponível no YouTube verifiquei como ocorria o reparo. Simples, rápido e sem traumas.
Verificar qual o modelo da sua fonte: ADP-240AR, etc.
