Magnetic Casing Causing the Unit to Not Stay On

I've followed every step in the Amazon playlist (Outside of opening it up) and nothing is working to get this kindle to turn on and stay on. It will power up for half a second then fall asleep. The battery seems fine from the outside. We did have a magnetic case on it and I'm worried that somehow has messed it up. When I do the hard reset it will even go through the whole boot system (30 seconds plus) but then once it's loaded it turns off. That's why my guess is that it's something to do with the magnetic case. Obviously I removed that but I'm about to open it up and see if there is any visible issues. What exactly should I be looking for?

I'm experiencing the same issue using the official Amazon Kindle magnetic case. It can restart but I can't access the system; it's stuck on the lock screen for a week now and I still can't resolve the problem.

I have eliminated other possible causes, and the issue appears to be related to the device password.

After connecting the Kindle to Wi-Fi, a system update was triggered by Amazon’s system, after which the device began malfunctioning. It is now stuck on the lock screen and does not prompt for password input at all.

Due to this password-related malfunction, the Kindle cannot be detected when connected to a computer, making it impossible to access or troubleshoot the device.

Same issue with mine, also protected by a password. But is it a guess / hypothesis or documented somewhere ?

If your Kindle powers on for a few seconds and then shuts off, the issue is likely with the magnetic sleep sensor. Magnetic cases can trigger or even damage this sensor, causing the device to think the cover is closed and forcing it to sleep. Remove the case, move it away from the Kindle, and hold the power button for about 40 seconds to do a full reset. If it only stays on while charging, it’s probably not the battery but the sensor. If you open it up, check for loose connections, corrosion, or damage near the magnetic sensor or battery cable. Avoid using strong magnetic cases in the future, as they can interfere with the Kindle’s sleep function.
