Informazioni sulla riparazione e lo smontaggio per lo smartphone Android Nokia G22, che verrà lanciato a marzo 2023.

Possible to change only display without the hole display unit?

Hi, I bought just a display, not a diplay unit. I dismantled the Nokia G22 without problems untill I reached the display unit. Now my question, is it possible to remove the display from the display unit without destroying it. Best regards!

@whg if you are saying that you have a complete screen but not the midframe, then yes you can but it's a pain. You will have to try to remove the old LCD from the midframe with some heat and some thin instruments like guitar picks. The plastic bezel is also snapped to the metal frame. All of this is cumbersome and tedious with a low success rate unless you have done this a couple of times. Personally, I recommend you return your screen and purchase a new complete assembly. Then use this guide Sostituzione gruppo schermo Nokia G22

Hello and thank you for the advice. I will order a display with a midframe and install it. I can then try changing the display on the old midframe. If it works, I will have a replacement. Kind regards.

@whg that is what I would do as well. Once done, let us know how it all worked out for you.

I have the same original issue, and I think it's despicable they so heavily advertised the repairability particularly of the screen, only to say oh it's tricky, just buy this new half a phone at the half the cost of the actual phone. What a joke. Terrible idea to buy this phone.

@nix2802 Have you found the screen+midframe assembly to cost substantially more than just the screen alone? I've run across many vendors selling both versions and the complete assembly is almost always only $5-10 USD more than the screen alone.

The cost is hardly the point to be honest, what's the point of having a phone made of recycled materials and repairable yourself when to repair it you need to dispose of perfectly serviceable and undamaged plastic?

The screen is not replaceable, Nokia have lied for green washing again
