Disconnecting circuit board connector cables - stuck on last one

Block Image

Hi all, anyone know how to safely remove this cable? I've tried walking it out for a long time, but it jams up against the little metal "levers" inside. I've tried lifting it up and over the levers but can't get it over. I can't see a release button underneath, but the angle isn't great to look closely.

Any help gratefully received, thank you

I'm not sure, but there seem to be a slight gap on the inside of the "bars" on the cable side of the connector. If this is the case it would indicate that you should press the sides of the connector together in order release it. Hard to be sure from this angle.

And those metal levers shouldn't be for the connector, but rather to secure the individual cables themselves into the connector. These shouldn't get out of the connector.

Make sure that you don't grip the cables, you should grip the connector (not the side soldered to the board of course).

Sometimes these connectors are just extremely tight without any mechanism holding them in and they are just hold in place by friction. If this is the case, you will just have to keep wiggling it out carefully. Just make sure to try and hold the side soldered to the board down as well so you don't accidentally tare it of the board.

Hope this was helpful despite me writing this from my phone and good luck! :D

Thanks so much!! It worked. You're right, it was just very tight, and eventually came off after I put a bit more force into getting it out.

Now that the cable is out I can't feel or see anywhere that I would be able to press the sides together, so it must just be push-on and off.

Good thing you mentioned about the little metal levers too, because I was considering poking at them. I will leave them alone now and in future :D
