My iPhone has a blank screen, but I am able to use voice commands

I am experiencing the same issue described in this question, where I cannot turn off my phone. I can use voice commands, but nothing is screen-related. This happened after I dropped my phone and ended up with vertical lines turning into a purple screen. I tried reseating connectors, but now I have a black screen. Do you have any suggestions?
