Laptop only turns on when any key is held

Asus TUF Gaming F17 FX706LI, power button seems to have no effect, pushing or holding it down. However, if I press any button on the keyboard the keyboard backlighting comes on, but when that key is released it goes back off. If I hold any key down the backlighting will stay on and the laptop will boot. I can sign into Windows and everything, as long as I continue to press that, or any other button on the internal keyboard, but as soon as I let go the laptop will shut off again. This is the same with or without the battery connected, or if plugged in.
