Bent housing after a fall. Possible ways to straighten it?

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to fix an iPad Air 5th Gen with a bent corner on the top right side near the Touch ID and power button.

The Touch ID button is slightly cracked and stuck in pressed position. The housing in the corner is bent sideways which keep the button pressed. And I think that the recovery mode is always displayed when charging because of the stuck power button.

You can see the actual state in the following pictures:

Are there ways to straighten it? In a way to unstuck the button to quit recovery mode. I heard that clamps and wooden plates may help to achieve this.

If possible, I would like to avoid breaking the screen in the process.

I ran into a similar situation with my daughter-in-law's iPad mini that had a bent frame. Frankly the only safe way to straighten it is to take off the screen; otherwise I guarantee you're going to break it trying to fix the frame.

In my case I researched suppliers and instructions on how to replace the entire housing before I opened it up; fortunately I was able to bend it back into shape so I didn't end up needing a new frame, but that's something you might consider. The iFixit teardown would basically get you most of the way there, but it doesn't continue to the point where everything has been removed from the housing so that might be something you would have to work out yourself.
