iPhone 14 Plus Kernel panic

I have an iphone 14 Plus that is constantly kernal panicing. It has not been cracked or water damaged. The rear cameras and flash do not work for some reason. I have checked the connectors and have attempted to restore the device. However, the device fails to restore unless I unplug the flex cables except for the dock/battery/screen. I have attached the log, any idea what is causing the panic?

Here is the full panic log. https://pastebin.pl/view/0abc132e

Using Apple's Mobile Resource Inspector diognostics tool only showed that the rear cameras could not be detected. Will the device keep Kernel panicing if the camera is faulty/unplugged? The flash doesn't work either but wireless charging and the mic works, could the flash just be disabled by iOS?

The flash not working is normal if the camera is not detected. I have been working on the specifics of how this circuit works, but there are enable lines for the flash that come from the camera module. So no camera= no flash.

I think it's probably time I made a Wiki for all of these though. SMC Panic Assertion failed is an extremely common panic on the 13 series and newer. Usually these are related to some sensor somewhere that the phone isn't getting data from. I don't see references for the 14 Plus in my usual spot, and the codes for these tend to vary by model.

The data I'm referencing is specifically the "Sensor Array" which here is 0x4000000. Let me see if I can round up what this references specifically, but it's often a few usual suspects. The dock flex is one, so that may be a reasonable place to start, but if the camera's aren't working might also mean that there is an issue with the flash, rather than the cameras since the flash is part of the wireless charge coil. The back glass assembly is known in other models to cause these sort of panics.

Thanks for the reply! Any info you can find out would definitely help! Was that the only issue shown in the log? I figured I would try buying a replacement camera and charge coil but they're rather expenisve and wouldn't want to waste money on parts if that wasn't the issue. Everything else seems to be working on the device including the wireless charging and mic, other than camera/flash.

@cabutcher99 Yup. That's usually the case with panics. Points to a single issue. If you have other panics that are different, might point to something else, but I am almost willing to bet that I might be the wireless charge coil. Or the back glass assembly in general.

I have never known the camera to cause these specific panics. Also be mindful that these are also paired in some way to the board. So a replacement coil alone may not fix this issue. Apple's nefarious way of strong arming consumers into using their parts to repair.

@flannelist update, I purchased a replacement rear camera module and the wireless charging flex, however there was no improvement. Wireless charging is working, but the flash and the rear camera is still not working. Still giving error 0x400000
