Why does my device keep crashing to a dead black screen?

While in use (with good battery charge and with charger connected), after about 10 to 15 minutes the screen will go black and the computer will become completely unresponsive. When in this state the CAPS Lock light doesn't show anything when pressed, the Touch Bar doesn't show anything, pressing any key doesn't do anything (including the power button) and there's no power chime when disconnecting and reconnecting the charger. I can tell the device is still on, though, because it is warm. The only way to get it to come back on is by holding the power button for about 10 seconds, releasing it, and then tapping the power button again to force restart it. The display seems to be fine and has no signs of damage. I originally thought this was a battery issue so I replaced the battery, but the issue is still persisting. My next best guess is that it's a subtle logic board issue. I've applied all available software updates after doing a clean OS reinstallation. Any advice or ideas? These devices are so expensive it's a shame to see them fail like this. Thank you!

@zpl - Well then, my guess is that it is thermal related, or logic board related.

If the thermal sensors are acting up, then the Mac may attempt to shut down to cool the Mac.

But if the thermal sensors are fine, then the logic board is not receiving the right information.

Since I don't know enough about exactly how a logic board works, I don't know exactly which part is broken, or how to replace it. In scenarios like this, the only solution I know of is to replace the logic board.

I feel like I'm not of too much help here, but hopefully you have an idea where to look now.

Best of luck!

P.S. I agree, I wish Macs won't randomly stop working. Any model between 2008 - 2013 seems to last forever. Any model after seems weaker. Steve, where are you?
