MacBook Air performing extremely slow
Hi,
I just received a Macbook Air from 2017. According to the System Info, it has a 1,8 GHz i5, 8 GB RAM and an Intel HD Graphics 6000, equipped with a 128GB SSD.
Battery has about 350 Cycle with about 60% of it's capacity left. System is running Mojave 10.14.6.
To the question: For some reason, that Macbook runs extremely slow. I had the same MacBook before and it ran significantly faster.
What I mean with slow:
- about 6-7 seconds to open Finder
- about 5 minutes to boot
- about 30 seconds to open Safari
What could this be? It shouldn't be a software issue, because the OS is freshly installed (at least, that's what the seller told me).. So I'd expect it to be a hardware issue... What though? Would this be anything that's easy to "debug"? Or would it most likely cost me more then it would worth reselling it in that way?
EDIT: Just as a little sidefact.. I just checked and the activity monitor shows basically a permanent 100% CPU usage, about 72% coming from "system" and the rest from "user"... Could it actually be a software issue? Or could it be a problem with the CPU or something else?
EDIT 2: after opening the MacBook, I can see, that it seems like somebody messed with it around already.. Had problems booting, so I opened it up to see what's going on... You think it's worth taking the mainboard out to see the other side as well? Or just resell it as it is?
EDIT 3: here are some more close up shots from the battery connector:
EDIT 4: after removing the tape on the connector, this is what it looks like...
EDIT 5: finally removed the old connector:
Questa è una buona domanda?
