What device are you planning on connecting that requires BT 5 or newer
There is still very few devices that can leverage the current standard. Reference: BlueTooth Feature Enhancements

Hi Dan
same issue as on the other thread.
I'd like to connect BT keyboard and mouse.
This worked flawlessly on an old 2010 Mac Pro with a "Thrust" USB dongle. Now it seems more difficult to get a Mac to talk to a BT USB dongle reliably.
