B button hardly registers on New Nintendo 3DS XL
I’ve tried using air on the button, and opened up the console to clean the buttons, but my B button still only registers half the time

I gently took off the conductive film on the button board and cleaned the metal parts with isopropyl alcohol. After placing it back on the board, the button works fine.

Have you checked what is the state of the rubber pads of the buttons? They should have a carbon coating underneath that makes the contact with the mainboard. Probably that has worn out and needs to be replaced - try installing a spare rubber pad to see if it makes any difference.
