Intel MacBook Pro 2020 won’t power on after battery drained overnight
Hey,
So for context I have a habit of not shutting down my computer overnight, and just put it to sleep. Similar thing happened yesterday, and I when I tried to power up my computer today, it just never switched on ( No fans, Trackpad not clicking etc). Unfortunately my computer will not turn on after charging the battery, resetting the NVRAM, SMB, holding power button etc.
This happened a few months ago also, and just as I was about to take it for repair, I plugged the in the Mac in desperate attempt and Voila! It magically started working, I didn’t give it too much thought, but now it’s been more than 36 hours and I’ve tried everything I could think off, but nothing seems to resolve the issue.
I went to an authorized repair center, and they said it seems like a faulty SMP, and they’ll have to do a full logic board replacement. I am student, and for a machine that is less than 2 years old, I just cannot justify paying 600$ for something which I believe isn’t my fault completely. Any suggestions would be appreciated !!
