Most suppliers will offer a couple of options when it comes to replacing the screen. You can buy the screen on its own and pull the old one off yourself, which can be messy and destructive along with the risks of either the new screen getting damaged during installation or not having a good seal. If this is the route you take, test the new screen before you take the old one off. It's perfectly safe to connect the new screen and power on the device while it's apart to test new parts.

The second and in my opinion easier, is you can buy the screen attached to a new frame assembly, so all you have to do is transfer the internals such as the battery, motherboard, antennas, and cameras. Use some heat and isopropyl alcohol to remove the battery. Just be careful not to bend or puncture the battery, as it may cause damage.

Use heat to remove leftover adhesive on the frame and back glass, you'll want to get it hot to the touch, so around 70 degrees Celsius. Some suppliers will sell replacement adhesive, which you'll apply to the back glass while it's hot, and firmly apply it with a spudger tool or your finger nails. While the frame and back glass are still hot, put the back glass back on and either clamp the device around the edges with a few clamps, or you could apply weight to the back glass, no more than 5 lbs I would say and let it cool.

Just be aware, that without the use of Samsung's tools, you won't have a liquid resistant seal, so keep it away from liquid as best as you can.
