wont charge with new battery
bought a new battery and get a battery icon that shows as a battery with a black end !

This usually means that the battery has been depleted. Try leaving it on a charger overnight and see if it will power on. If it doesn't, you may have a dead battery and will need to get a replacement one.

@cvneutron - Where are you hiding these days! - hope your well.
this battery replacement did not work for me. If I attempt to charge the new battery , the charge indicator shows as normal, but after some hours the ipod just dies from lack of power !
