S-Pen working only on the left bottom screen after screen replacement

Hello,

So the problem is the following.

My phone dropped and had a yellow horizontal line but touch screen worked. Over the days half screen became yellow.

I was in China at that moment and I went to a local shop and paid 250 for official Samsung screen. I didn't get a receipt or something, but it seemed legit. And then I tried using S-Pen but unfortunately it works only on the left bottom screen. Is there any way to fix it?

I tried hard resetting - restart - updating - new s-pen but nothing seems to work

My previous screen is no longer available as I foolishly discarded it without testing everything

Thank you!

Looks like bad screen, all samsung with s pen support have aditional touch folie Under display from wacom. You can test bot touch inputs with entering ''''star#0star#

Hi Christos,

I have to agree with @vojtech59738 that it's likely you've gotten a defective screen. The ones that support the S-Pen actually have two digitizers; one for your fingers and a separate one for your S-Pen. The S-Pen digitizer is obviously defective and the most likely solution is going to be to have to replace the screen once again.

However, it would be worth your while to open the phone up and check and reconnect the screen connection; it is possible the repair shop just didn't get the display connector plugged in completely. You don't need to tear the whole phone down to do that; just check both ends of the display cable as shown in the Screen and Battery Assembly Replacement guide.

Open the phone up and check both ends with a magnifying glass and a bright light. You're looking at both the cable and the board connectors for any signs of bent, broken or missing pins. If you find any bent ones, they can sometimes be straightened with fine tip tweezers. After that, clean them all with 90% or higher concentration isopropyl alcohol. Let it dry then reconnect everything, making sure both ends are plugged in securely. Power the phone on and retest.

If it still doesn't work after that, it might be worth your while to try replacing that cable that goes between the display and the motherboard, but in all likelihood you will most likely need to replace the screen again. Unfortunately those aren't cheap by any means; from the tenor of your post I assume going back to the shop that originally did the repair isn't an option, is it?

Thank you for your detailed comment, I will be sure to do that.. The shop does not accept to fix it or refund me (I am a seafarer) and now I left china and I am not returning.. So I will have to try that solution and if it does not work just accept that I got robbed and buy another screen 😐

@christospavlou Sorry to hear that, Christos. Unfortunately it's not possible to separate out the digitizer from the OLED display, so yeah, the only other fix is to replace the whole screen or resign yourself to living without the S-Pen, at least until you feel ready to buy a new one or until prices come down.

I wanted to sell it actually and buy s23 but without pen it's value is low 🥲 but thank you for your help and tips

Same issue with Fold4. Screen was replaced by Samsung..it seems where the old screen had been detached, before replacement, is where in the new screen the S pen won't work.. it's a 4hr drive for me so don't feel like going back
