L'iPhone da battaglia per il 2020 di Apple è stato rilasciato il 23 ottobre; ha schermo OLED da 6,1", sistema di fotocamere doppio da 12 MP ed è disponibile in cinque colori. È il successore dell'iPhone 11.

Why is FaceID not working after screen replacement?

I replaced my cracked screen with a display from iFixit, and made sure to use the front camera part from the old phone and put it in the new display. However, the phone now says "unable to determine if display is genuine" and it disabled FaceID. I was under the assumption that if you used the original front camera part FaceID would still work. Thank you for your help!

@rs0087, If you used the phones original front cameras + flexes, just replacing the screen, then yes; The FaceID should work.

I’d start by opening it up again, then disconnecting battery (always battery first) followed by the screen assembly. Inspect all connectors and flexes under high magnification for damage. If there’s no sign of damage, reassemble the screen assembly making absolutely sure every connector is married up properly. Finally replugging the battery, but before gluing the phone up again, test it for functionality, ie the FaceID.

Is iOS up to date? This did affect iPhones but then Apple changed it in an iOS update.

Hello! Does it matter if it is not a genuine part? Do we have to reprogram Face ID and True Tone function with a dedicated programmer?

Even with Apple Original parts, it won't work. I just replaced my iPhone 12 screen with another iPhone 12's screen, not working anymore. In fact, I exchanged the motherboard (and screen's board) from a damaged iPhone to a new iPhone 12 (same model A2402). Everything is running smoothly except that I have loads of warnings in Settings, explaining that I haven't used Apple original hardware... Yeah right...⏎

So the catch is that Apple has some hidden settings to certify that the exchange was "official". It works, but no Face ID. The rest works perfectly, even with the warnings.⏎

You fix the screen, say adios to Face ID. And with the price of Apple repairs, better buy a new iPhone...

This is subject to change in iOS 18, which is releasing tomorrow. With iOS 18, you will be allowed to pair OEM parts to phone.
