Is there another way to check the pressure sensor/this issue?

We just got our LG washtower a few days ago. I've emptied the drain after each wash and am getting in excess of 2 cups each time. A friend says they clean it monthly and there's only 1 cup after all that time. There's no way I can get to the back of the machine due it's weight and where it is in the house. Is there another way to check the pressure sensor/this issue? Thanks!
