The down in my jacket has broken down.

The down in the sleeves on the inside of the the arms is pretty much gone. So the jacket is wonderfully warm everywhere else except the arms.

Did down come out from a puncture in the fabric? Some down wear sews baffles as partitions to contain down in compartments to prevent it from migrating elsewhere. Washing wets down and careful drying in a dryer with a tennis ball or two fluffs up down wear back to its insulating power.

I have washed and dried the jacket according to the directions. Unfortunately, it did not solve the problem.
