why is my macbook not powering Its a macbook retina 2016 the funs are running when power cable is plugged in but power cable light remains red and screen just doesn't display like its not powered on

Hi Benedict, if it's an A1534 12" macbook, these are well know for the CPU just dying, where there is no fix for this I'm afraid.
You can check this by plugging in a USB mouse with a USB-C adater. If there is light from under the mouse there is CPU activity, if nothing, CPU is dead. This model also suffers SSD just dying too.

I think he may have a different device to what it says in the question as he mentions that the fans are running when turned on
The 2016 Retina MacBooks don’t have fans so he most likely has a pro of some sort:-)

Hi Benedict. There are a number of knowledgeable people around here but they will need to know more information about your device to be able to help you. How and when did this happen? Do any lights come on? Anything else you have noticed will also help like the condition of the battery.
