Thermal paste change problem

If my ps3 does not have YLoD problem and I want to change the thermal paste, must I use the heatgun also?

You definitely do not need to use the heat gun if you just want to change the thermal paste. The heat gun is used for re-flowing the solder underneath the processor and graphics cards.

I agree u dont need to use the heat gun if your just changing the the thermal paste I recommend Artic Silver.Heat gun is used only when u have the YLOD problem.
