iBook G4 charger does not charge but lights up
Hi,
I've got a 1.33MHz iBook G4, and here's the thing: I can plug in the power adapter (24.5V 2.65A) and it won't power up. Now, it lights up amber when I plug it in, and if I charge the battery in another computer first (using the same power adapter), the iBook starts up fine.
When the iBook comes on, it recognizes there's a power adapter plugged in (the menu bar icon has a plug in it), but it will shut off abruptly as soon as the battery is drained. CoconutBattery 2.6.6 tells me also that the charger is connected, but the battery is not charging.
I've also reset the PMU multiple times, and it doesn't seem to make any difference.
One other thing, and I don't know if it's related (it's been unused long enough that I don't remember), but the LCD back light doesn't work. Not a big deal for me, as I'm not going be using the LCD anyway, but I thought it may be helpful to mention.
Any suggestions on what the issue might be? I'm down with replacing cheap things like a DC power board, a connecter, or something, but if it's a logic board, I'm not sure it would be worth it. Thanks for any help you can give me.
