Recover data from integrated sd card for a dead phone?

Hi - I have a Pixel 3 that just died the other day. The screen is black and unresponsive (it looks to me like it is off) and plugging it into a charger doesn't change anything (i.e. still just black). I have some data on the phone that is not backed up that I'd like to get access to. I'm not interested in repairing the phone.

Is there any recommended methods of doing so? I see a motherboard teardown which gets me close to the SD card, but I think it is soldered onto the motherboard? Is there a way to get access to it?

try disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it again, could just be a software glitch

either the motherboard needs repaired or the main chips need transferred to another working motherboard, its not an easy repair and its not a repair that can be done by just anyone, its a specialised microsoldering job

Gotcha - at this point I'm not interested in repairing the phone but just getting the data off the sdcard. I agree that its a microsoldering job, wondering if its possible to basically remove the sdcard from the motherboard?

@Kiran Karra what do you mean sd card on the board, did you put an sd card into the phone or are you talking about the memory chip

Sorry - I meant to say that in the iFixit teardown, it looked like there is a SD card on the motherboard which holds all of the data. I want to get that SD card so I can recover my data. It is the default one that is in the phone, I never added a different one.

@Kiran Karra no its not an sd card its an emmc memory chip, no way to access data without either repair

As @tech_ni mentioned, it would be worth your time to try disconnecting the battery. My niece brought her Pixel 4 to me when it looked dead; like yours, no signs of life whatsoever. I opened it up, disconnected the battery and spent the next half hour checking everything I could. No luck finding the problem, so imagine my surprise when I plugged the battery back in and it booted up like nothing was ever wrong with it!

Still have no explanation, but it appears the simple act of unplugging the battery brought it back to life; that's literally all I did. Worth a try.

Thanks so much - I'll give it a try!

@Kiran Karra I should also mention that before opening the phone I tried every solution I could find on the internet first, such as trying different chargers/cords plus every possible reset/reboot combination of button presses imaginable with no reaction from the phone to anything I did.

Thank you - I will be trying this shortly once I get the necessary parts!

You can use data recovery apps for recover your precious data. Disk drill would be the nice option for you. There are so many trustworthy apps available for data recovery from internal and external devices.
