My apple macbook retina 12 ( early 2016) seems to have an audio issue. The system does not recognize internal speakers and wont recognize headphones when plugged into the aux. The microphone also dosent work. The only way i can get it to give me audio is when i pair my airpods. is this a motherboard issue or perhaps just the audio board? thank you for reading

Sounds like a failed Headphone Jack,
If the Headphone Jack Goes, It can cause some nasty problems!

yea so I actually opened the laptop up after posting my question and found corrosion on both the audio board and the flex cable. I tried to clean it all of with 99% alchoal but i still dont get internal speakers.Do you think replacing the board and cable would get rid of my audio issue or would it require mainboard repair?
@Maikel Saba - I think replacing the audio board and cable would fix it.
