My escape key came out but the tiny plastic piece under it is with it

Okay, so my escape key came out but along with it was the smaller of the 2 plastic pieces under the key that go around the rubber cap. I don't know how to get the plastic piece off to put it below the bigger plastic piece without breaking it.
