You should be able to log into your Samsung account from any web browser using your Samsung ID and password and change the phone number to the new one.

I've tried doing the steps to change my phone number but when I get to the accounts it's not showing samsung so I can't change anything

Do you mean that your phone is not showing up in your account when you access it online on it is not in your phone's account settings?
If you haven't tried accessing your Samsung account online, can you access your Samsung account at all by going online with another device e.g. computer?
I too cannot get into my Samsung account due to the 2- step verification. I've waited on hold for hours and worked with customer service. Since I don't have any of my old devices or old phone numbers and I did not record the one time code they gave me when I opened my account, customer service said "I am sorry, that is all I can do. Can I help you with another issue?" I am so disappointed in this company I am about to give away all my Samsung products.

Whoa. Don't be that dramatic. Telling everyone you are disappointed in the samsung company and that you will give away all your samsung products, really only means something to you and has no impact other than you become the one disappointing. That is because you are complaining about something that clearly is your own fault. The samsung account system is real simple. You sign up. Apply two step verification and as it is noted that when using a specific phone number be sure it's one you will try and always use. But I'm case you don't have access to that number, you can use the backup codes provided. Now before proceeding to setup the account. You were to be sure to write those down somewhere safe and accessible. Neglecting to do so, losing your number and backup codes, is officially your own fault. So do stop crying about it and just open a new account. It's likely that there is nothing that's important in the samsung account that you can't already retrieve with your Google account.
No when its your fault because someone cocked up your SIM card and had no choice but to have a new one. How's that our fault!
samsung still has my tiscali e mail that no longer exists but how do you get that wiped? it is not allowing me to restart my galaxy to factory settings
Had the same problem talked to live chat support and he just gave me their support phone number. They told me there's nothing they can do. I have my backup code saved on my computer but I can't access it right now. I'll just have to wait until I can get back into my computer. The simple fix is just create a new email just so you can create Samsung account and hope all your old stuff is saved to your Google account too.

I have been having the same problem, soo beyond frustrated! I can't just change my number as per previous suggestion because it won't let me click on the number to change it and it doesn't give me the option otherwise. I've changed my number in Samsung account already but it won't recognize it because it's not the number I registered the phone under. Petty as it sounds, I can't even change my font because I can't get into my account, so really really, if there is some way to fix this other than spending even more countless hours on the phone re explaining this to everyone imaginable... Im all ears! 😬🤞🤯🙏
