I got this xbox one s from my friend in this state. It powers on into the startup error menu with E203 . I then proceed to offline update it and it gives me E101 immediately after starting. I haven't seen any solutions to this anywhere else so I thought I should ask it here.

It turns out the hard drive was bad. I replaced it, performed the usb update, and it worked. Thanks for the help!

There are a few things you could try
If I were you, I would try in that order and hopefully 1 should get you to the bottom of it

Good afternoon from Australia,
Have you tried googling this? If not then maybe try looking at other places.
Based on what I have seen, replacing the hard drive might be a good idea as it could be a faulty hard drive (You never know)
