LCD not working after dock connecter replacment

I replaced the dock connecter and now the lcd is broken. The backlight works when I turn it on but the lcd remains blank

Does this mean the screen is bright white? Anyway the first trouble shooting step is a Reset, hold both home and power buttons until the iPhone restarts itself. If this does not help, is the iPhone recognized by iTunes? Does the vibrate switch make the iPhone vibrate?
