Working Launch Playstation 3 - How to prevent a yellow light of death?

I have a launch Playstation 3 60GB (CECHA01). It is basically the best PS3 ever made, with the 4 USB ports, all the card readers, and full PS2 hardware. It's in perfect working order, and the piano black finish is even in good shape too! It's a gem of a PS3. However, as a launch PS triple it is vulnerable to the yellow light of death, and that scares me. Lately I've been afraid to use it. I want it to last!

So, those of you out there with experience on PS3s like this, what maintenance should I do to prevent the yellow light of death? To my knowledge it is untouched straight from the factory, minus the SSD I put into it.
