Tablet won’t turn on after replacing charging port

Replaced the charging port and now the tablet won’t turn on. Attempted to reboot multiple times by holding power button/volume keys for 10-15 seconds in different combinations, which had no affect. I’ve also tried charging the tablet. I’ve examined the hardware to make sure I didn’t forget to put anything back in it’s place, and no parts appear to be damaged.

It’s possible there was damage done to the screen while prying the back cover off (the tool slipped in between the screen and the panel attached to it a few times) but I’m not entirely sure. If this is the case, would replacing the screen resolve the issue?

Borb "If this is the case, would replacing the screen resolve the issue?" yes it would. If it is the case. FOr now, follow the flowchart for your systems No power and No Charge and see if you can determine where the issue originates from. Use this file Galaxy Tab A PCB and open it with your PDF reader. Then use the search function to isolate the components you need to check according to the flow charts.

Is there a key that says what all the abbreviations stand for? Like fpcb, sub pba and TA?

@nathanaelwo9499 Yeah, those TLAs get old after a while.

Not sure what the "F" is for, but PCB generally means Printed Circuit Board. That refers to just the circuit board minus the components mounted on it.

PBA, on the other hand, is a Printed Board Assembly, meaning the PCB plus the parts that go on it. The Sub part presumably refers to it being a daughter card; a circuit board that's meant to be mounted on another circuit board.

Dunno what the TA stands for, but if you find a picture of the board that holds the USB port, I'm betting you'll find another connector on it that will fit the TA abbreviation.

Thanks a lot Jerry. That helps a lot. Now when I get home I should be able to figure out what’s wrong w my sons tablet.
