I've got the Bing redirect virus, but Windows defender won't remove it

My web browser (Firefox) always redirects to Bing, even if the search engine setting is set to Google or anything else. Do I need to get a non-Microsoft antivirus, or something else. If I need to manually delete the malware, where in the file system should I look for it?

I’m no windows expert but I do know that windows defender is a very “bland” anti virus that won’t detect everything because it free out the box

My advise would be to use another service with a free trial and see if it throws anything up
