Guide di riparazione e informazioni per il disassemblaggio per i laptop prodotti da ASUS.

My display doesn't work on my Asus FX505D laptop.

I tried reseating ram, reseting bios, a hard reset and still nothing. I’m so confused because it was working fine a couple of days ago and I did nothing to damage it. I can never find videos on it its like my laptop doesn’t exist

Hi,

Are you sure that it is an FX505D and not an FX505DD, DT, DU, DV or DY?

Try connecting an external monitor (TV?) to the laptop’s HDMI port and check if there is a display on it. Don't forget to press the Fn+F9 keys (both together) to toggle the display from laptop only to external only to both on.

Here's a link to some videos that show disassembly of various FX505D series laptops that may help.

@Weekdays_

Sounds like it's not booting more than a no video problem.

What did you do as a "hard reset"?

if you meant the 30 second power button pressed with the main battery disconnected or removed you may have to try a complete power refresh to reset the BIOS.

Looking at the videos I linked there appears to be a coin cell CMOS battery on the motherboard.

So, disconnect the charger if connected.

Disassemble the laptop to disconnect the main battery - you only have to disconnect it not remove it

Remove the coin cell battery from the motherboard (Note the orientation of the battery - usually it is +ve on top)

Press and hold the power button for a full 30 seconds and then release it.

Reinsert the coin cell battery. Remember the orientation when inserting

Reconnect the main battery

Re assemble the laptop.

Connect the charger and try turning it on and check

@Weekdays_

Have you tried what I suggested above?

With all power removed from the motherboard i.e. charger, main battery, CMOS battery nothing should "light up" or turn on as you are draining any residual power from the board in an effort to reset the BIOS back to its factory default state.
