Fans go a bit high after HDD upgrade to non Apple HDD

Hello guys, maybe someone has already faced the same issue as me, however I cannot find a working solution for my case. I’ve replaced a faulty HDD in my old iMac 27, late 2013 with another non-genuine HDD and noticed that the fan goes high a little bit. Everything works smooth as it should, however I hear the fan’s noice which bothers me.

I tried to connect 5-th pins of my HDD like shown in pics attached, but it didn’t give me a good result. I’m aware that I can use a solution from OWC, but I’d rather find another solution.

I’ve also shared a screenshot of my sensors, which shows that everything’s fine and there’s no reasons for the fans to go high.

Sorry there is really only one answer and thats the OWC sensor unless you create your own. The Mid 2014 models got updated firmware which enabled the SMART thermal sensor within the newer spec’ed drives.

Thanks, Dan. Is there anyway to install the updated firmware from 2014 into my mac?
