after upgrading to Catalina my mac no longer can screen share. Airplay works thru quicktime & such but the tv icon wont appear on my home screen.
Iv done all the”fixes” in settings in security firewalls display etc and nothing makes the tv icon appear in bar at the top of my computer.
anybody know why & how to fix? I also upgraded to 4.0 bluetooth as well

If it worked before with the older macOS, then I think your best solution is to roll back to it.
I would create a bootable USB drive to double check. Down load the older OS from here How to get old versions of macOS.
You are limited to the newer APFS based OS’s unless you completely wipe your drive as Sierra and older uses a different File system (HFS+) and they won’t run on top of APFS based drives.
Technically macOS High Sierra (10.13.6) is the highest version your system can support per Apple. I would recommend creating a bootable High Sierra drive to see if that works if it does then I think that’s your answer.
