Watched dropped and screen popped out but everything is still working

Had an unusual event occur. Wife dropped her Series 3 and the screen popped out. Undamaged and still operational force touch.

Checked out ifixit repair guides and ordered new adhesive strip, 2 actually because I’m novice.

Went to repair today and noticed there was no adhesive residue to remove and that the repair guide seemed to indicate that adhesive appeared to go between the screen and the force touch gasket which is still attached to the screen and working.

Before starting I checked fitment to make sure I had a good feel for it, and with some pressure the screen popped back in. Tried to lift it back up but no go.

Everything works and seems to be a tight fit.

Any thoughts from the more experienced?
