Power light blink 2 times

My Samsung tv won't turn on, the power led blink twice, I did open the tv and notice the following

  1. The back light does go full, dim then off. If I keep the power on, it keep going on the same cycle
  2. If I disconnect the main board, the backlight stays full the entire time.
  3. Did replace the main board, and the behavior is still the same.

I do have access to multimeter, any ideas what to do next?

Btw, model number is UN55RU730DF

Update

When I do disconnect any one one of wide cable that comes from main board to screen panel, I can hear sound and use remote, no image/video

Thanks

I’m having the exact same issues

Did you find out what’s wrong with it??

I have the same issue! But originally my mainboard didn’t have sound so replaced it and now the TV behaves this exact same way. Thinking about replacing the psu as my TV broke after a series of rapid outages but still unsure of pulling the trigger on that.

I have the same issue on a q70T 75” Samsung. Just had a tech out for the first time. He literally plugged it in watched it try to turn on and blink the red light twice. He said the panel is bad. Then proceeded to fight with my wife (because I was at work) and that we needed to pay him for diagnosis and that we had to pay for the part and installation over $1000. Luckily I keep all my emails receipts etc. so he ate his words. Now they have to order a panel wait for it then come install the panel.

Has anyone found a solution to this? I have the exact same problem with my 58" samsung TV model UN58TU7000F. I am thinking about replacing the main board and power supply but I would like to know if anyone figured it out first.

If the sound returns when cables are unplugged from the main board, I would suspect the main board OR what is connected to it, the T-CON, OR what is connected to the T-CON, Panel. Start by going to the T-CON and unplugging the panel connections. If that brings back the sound, it MIGHT be the panel. If not, unplug the T-CON. If sound comes back, it MIGHT be the T-CON. HOWEVER, one cannot rule out the PSU, since a failure mode would be to reduce or kill voltage under load.

Another HOWEVER, since a tech decided it was a panel that MIGHT weigh in on the problem, assuming he has had lots of experience replacing them.

Hi mate don't know if you fixed this but I have exact same issue and everything you have done but while I had the ribbon unplugged the sound was there then I plugged the ribbon back in and I have picture too. I am doing an update now so will see what happens after that.

I commented here that I had this problem months ago. So basically if your tv behaves this exact same way it means that either your main board is bad or your panel is bad. If your panel is bad you are better off buying a new tv.

I had the bad luck of buying a bad main board replacement and I almost threw the tv thinking the panel was bad lol. Fortunately my seller agreed on sending a new one and this time it actually worked and my tv came back alive.

I have this same issue on a 70 inch, I put power board in and no change and today I put new main board in. No change, I have more in tv now than it’s worth and I’m guessing it needs new panel I’m reading in some of the comments.

I had Samsung come in and diagnose the issue. Bought in November 2020. Apparently screen went. Samsung replaced the entire panel. They said the main board and power supply were fine.
