New Control Board ribbon cable only working with eject button
I bought a replacement ribbon flex cable for my CECH-3001B ps3 slim recently, however when connecting it, only the eject button does anything.
I'm hoping that I'm doing something wrong and I wont have to return it.

make sure that the pins are clean (nothing covering them) and not bent. You can after cleaning with Alcohol blow both the ribbon off and the cd/dvd rear connector. See if this works.
