worth upgrading my late2009 MacMini?

I have a late 2009 MacMini that i wish to upgrade it to the fullest, or at least to make it as equivalent as possible to my mid2010 corei7 iMac, that is running HighSierra.

Main goal is to be able to use the same apps (Adobe CC2017) in both Macs. So i am thinking of an SSD and perhaps more RAM, but i have no clue what type of Ram modules i need and most importantly if it is worth making the overall upgrade.

Update (07/27/2021)

I upgraded the memory with 2x4GB and when i boot, it will continuously starts beeping without being able to boot..

You can upgrade the RAM to 8 GB of

RAM Type:PC3-8500 DDR3Min. RAM Speed:1066 MHz

Drop in an SSD, make sure it is

Serial ATA (3 Gb/s) compatible

Upgrade the system to 10,11

Not sure you’ll end up with a system that will be that useful for your work flow, Adobe Creative Cloud offers quite a few different apps. I use Photoshop on a Mac Pro working on ultra-massive and deep images which pushes my system to the wall. While my work is at the extreme, consider what you are doing.

First your system is only a Core 2 Duo either a 2.26, 2.53 or 2.66 GHz CPU, it only supports a max of 8 GB of RAM and the SATA port is limited to SATA II (3.0 Gb/s) be aware most SSD’s are now fixed speed at SATA III (6.0 Gb/s) I/O speed and won’t work in your system (review the drive spec sheet, if it doesn’t list support for 3.0 Gb/s look for another drive).

U mean i should buy a SATAII drive cause a SATAIII would just be overkill?

@genik - No, it's a physical limit within the ability of the system to handle the data flow.

Think of it like drinking water from a fire hose vs a garden hose your system just can't handle the data flow.

There are a few SSD's which offer auto sense technology still like the Samsung 870 EVO note the Interface line lists 3.0 Gb/s.

Dan im sorry, but my non native Eng still dont help me to understand what you mean.

@genik - Then just get the Samsung 870 EVO drive as it will work!

Just made the SSD upgrade with an Intenso TOP 250GB Sata3... its a cheap SSD im crossing my fingers it will last! :-)
