typically yes, is it the same style hard drive?
you may need to format it properly for the Xbox to see it. if you dont it wont work at all and the xbox wont boot. there are a TON of guides on how to do this that can be found wit ha simple google search usually.

I wouldn’t recommend it unless you have an external drive to install your games on. The 500GB drive they initially used was barely enough storage to begin with. On top of that the file formatting can be a bit tricky from what I hear. But it should be doable as long as it’s a 2.5” drive.
