Google assistant continuously activating after screen repair

I’ve recently completed a screen replacement of my pixel 3 phone. Everything seems to have gone well except now when I’ve booted it back up to test things the phone is continuously activating the google assistant feature like i’ve squeezed the squeeze sensors. I still haven’t fully glued the back cover back on so i’ve disconnected the squeeze sensors and it’s still happening. Any ideas are welcome.

It looks like most of the rest of the phone works.. s far as i can tell.
