Samsung WF350ANR/XAA washer won't balance

Samsung WF350ANR/XAA front load washing machine started to become unbalanced regardless of load size (or even empty). As it nears the cycle end to start the high spin cycle, it just shakes, stops and keeps trying. I have:

leveled the feet, replaced all 4 shock absorbers (front and back), replaced the internal balancer ring in the drum and even replaced the support/spider arm in the back of the drum as well. The support arm was definitely a problem … the ball bearings were everywhere in the drum.

The only other thing i can think of is the two springs that secure the drum to the top/sides of the machine housing. maybe they are bad?

Has anyone ever encountered this to have any suggestions? There are no error codes. it just keeps running till you intervene and turn the machine off.

Hi @danfixesit ,

Don’t know the answer but here’s the fastrack troubleshooting guide for the washer.

This details how to perform diagnostic tests for all the functions of the machine.

It is interesting that you say that there are no error codes as an “unbalance error” LED code or LCD display is shown in the list of possible errors, even though there is no answer for solving it apart from rearranging the load. Maybe clearing the eeprom as described in the guide and then starting again may show up something.

Hopefully this may help.

Thank you @jayeff . This is helpful. so even leading up to what prompted me to start replacing parts, the washer never gave an "unbalanced" error code or any error code for that matter.

Not sure if you'd know, but when disassembling the motor to get the drum out, both the rotor and motor coil were extremely rusty. I cleaned them the best I could before reassembling. With the top cover off while attempting a spin cycle, when I watch the drum as speed increases, the motion that leads to being off balance comes from back by the motor. the drum starts swaying side to side in the back slowly but as the speed increases the side to side motion increases. I am wondering if motor operation isn't smooth enough to stay balanced and there is some friction/resistance that could be causing the motor to spin and cause the swaying?

Hi @danfixesit

Don't know but was wondering if you should try the Service Mode > Quick Spin Test and check if any error codes are shown. There may be 3E or E3 or bE or 25 code which means Motor Drive Error or Hall Sensor error when this is done in service mode (see p.4)

On p.3 there are the Hall Sensor Check and the Motor checks which may also help.
